Automatic Polyp Detection System for Colonoscopies
Magentiq Eye harnesses computer-vision and deep-learning techniques that combine artificial intelligence with big data in order to assist doctors with endoscopic procedures. The company’s first product is the Automatic Polyp Detection System (APDS), intended for use in both real-time and recorded colonoscopies.
Magentiq’s APDS is designed to reduce polyp miss rates by alerting doctors to suspicious areas during colonoscopy procedures. The APDS-RT uses the video feed from the endoscopy camera during procedures in real time, and the APDS-OFL is a software solution that runs in offline mode using prerecorded colonoscopy videos. The unit can automatically upload the videos from a predefined library and scan each one for missed polyps. The system edits a short video clip containing the areas where suspicious tissue is detected. The system serves as a second net, minimizing the miss rate and reducing the occurrence of interval cancer.
